CAD Technician - Motherwell Bridge
Based at our Wakefield Offices
Key Objectives
Primarily design and operational support on Altrad’s gasholders projects across the world, including production of general arrangement and layout drawings, 3D models, detailed drawings, bills of materials, for new build and refurbishment projects. The role will extend to supporting the business with their RFQs, tenders, etc.
Main Activities
Day-to-day activities and the role outputs the individual is expected to deliver
· Production of project specific/tender CAD based drawings/3D Models, including layouts, assembly and detailed fabrication and construction drawings in accordance with Customer’s requirements and Company Standards and Practices
· Preparation of Bills of Materials and other tender/project specific documents
· Ensuring that in-house or third party prepared drawings are comprehensive and accurately represent engineering and design intent
· Delivering within defined programmes
· Liaising with the engineering team (office and site-based) on technical matters
Qualifications / Experience
· Competent CAD Technician with a HNC/HND Qualification (or equivalent) and/or can demonstrate experience in a similar role will be considered
· Proficient in current engineering design and drafting software packages, such as AutoCAD Mechanical 2013 onwards and Inventor, and has a reasonable knowledge of work processes, fabrication and construction capabilities
· The ability to understand and interpret technical data, including reading design drawings
· Able to create drawings with constructability and spatial awareness in mind
· Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
· Capability to handle multiple tasks with limited supervision, and to work independently as well as within a cohesive team
· Demonstrate effective organisation skills, and have a methodical approach to work
· Strong PC skills, particularly with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
